The Wallum development in Brunswick Heads, is known as a Zombie DA, a historically approved consent from years past, that has not been held to current ecological or cultural impact assesments.
Save Wallum - Brunswick Heads, along with numerous other groups along the NSW coast, are calling on NSW Planning Minister Scully to enact an immediate Moratorium on ALL Zombie DAs in NSW, until the recently announced NSW Legislative Assembly Inquiry is completed and recommendations made.
The Terms of Reference for the Zombie Inquiry, include consideration of the impacts "of the uncertain status of lawfully commenced development consents; any barriers to addressing historical development consents using current legal provisions, and the benefits and costs to taxpayers of taking action on historical development concerns," as well as, "possible policy and legal options to address concerns regarding historical development consents, particularly the non-completion of consents that cannot lapse".
Clearly this indicates there is a problem - so until the solutions are found, join us in our call for an immediate Moratorium, to stop all works on these nightmare, Zombie DAs.
Thank you for joining us in calling for NSW Planning Minister Scully to enact an immediate Moratorium on ALL Zombie DAs in NSW, like Wallum in Brunswick Heads, until the recently announced NSW Legislative Assembly Inquiry is completed and recommendations made.
